Border Collie Background
The origins of the dog are subject to speculation and are locked in time, it is obvious that after the development of domestic dogs used by humans to hunt, sheepdogs of different kinds were made worldwide. Flocks of sheep, cattle, and goats were a unit used to determine individual wealth, since the Biblical times.
The development of a trusted dog to drive these groups of animals was a primary concern. Sheepdogs are well known for their intelligence and trainability. These were characteristics of workability that were selected in the formation of the many different varieties of sheepdog breeds.
The art of caring for sheep was brought to the British Islands from the Romans. Various Celtic clans quickly formed their own kinds of sheepdogs to herd these animals. These domestic dogs became connected with their regions and were later perceived as Northern Sheepdogs, Welsh Sheepdogs, Scotch Collies, Highland Collies, etc. While the ancestor of the Border Collie formed throughout the British Islands, its Scottish inheritance is clear in the Scottish word, "collie," used to identify these dogs.
Classes for "Scotch Sheep Dogs" were present at the Birmingham Dog Society, which was England's second dog show ever. On a journey to Balmoral a quick time later, Queen Victoria met her first Collie and come to be an active supporter of the breed.
Thanks to breeders who have been breeding the dogs for their original purpose, herding, the Border Collie has stayed a real working dog, with few changes made from the original classic shepherd's dog
