Puppy Application
We require a puppy application to be completed. It is very important that each puppy is placed in an excellent home. (View our frequently asked questions or do research on Border Collies to find out why these questions are important.)

***Note: We will only consider applications that answer these questions - please provide your contact information. A border collie is generally a 10-15 year commitment, and should not be taken lightly! We want the best for our border collies!
1. Have you ever owned a Border Collie before? If not which breed (s) have you had. How long did the dog (s) live? What happened to the dog (s)?
2. Why do you desire a border collie? What activities are you wanting the dog to do? (Herding, Agility, SAR, therapy, tracking, goose control, active companion, etc.)
3. What age group are you in?
4. Do you have young children, live or will live in a house with young children? If so, what are the child (s) age (s)?
5. Are you looking for a child's pet? If so how old is the child?
6. Do you live in a country setting, suburb setting, or in a city setting?
7. How long have you been at your current residence? Does your occupation require you to relocate frequently?
8. Where are you located?
9. How many acres is available for the dog to run freely and safely on?
10. Do you have a fenced in yard that is border collie proof? Do you understand that some border collies can become excellent escape artists?
11. Do you enjoy being active on a daily basis? (Jogging, hiking, biking, swimming, etc.)
12. Where will the dog be kept most of the time?
13. Please describe what kind of animals you currently own.
14. Have you done research on the breed? If so, how long have you done research? Do you understand that the intelligence of border collies can easily get them into trouble, and that Border Collies are typically not for the average pet owner?

16. How long will the dog be without human contact each day?
17. How much time do you have to devote to training, and giving the dog attention?
18. Please describe a border collie that would be perfect for you. Please include which gender and other traits that you find desirable. If we have puppies available, which puppy are you interested in?
19. Why would you like to share your life with a border collie?
20. Do you have the resources, and are you willing to provide a dog medical care in the event an accident occurs, and the treatment is very expensive?
21. Are you physically able to control, exercise, and take care of a very active breed of dog?
22. Are you experienced with training dogs? If so please specify. If not, are you willing to consult a dog trainer?
23. Do you have the time and energy to exercise an adult border collie each day?
