Tips for rewarding Border Collies:

Use verbal Praise, tell your pet "good boy" or "good dog" etc.

Buy small soft treats, break larger treats into small pieces and places the treats into a treat bag that will clip to your side.

Playing ball or tossing objects for your pet to catch are great rewards, but don't use small balls that can cause choking.

Tummy rubs, and stroking the side of the dog's back are rewards most dogs love.

Dogs love to play fetch or tug of war. Teach the dog to release on your command.

For best results, use a combination of these reward techniques, if you are doing flyball, try rewarding the dog with a ball.
