Toys for dogs:
Kong toys: Toys that are hollow in the middle. Peanut butter or treats can be place inside. These could be placed inside the dog's crate to keep the dog busy for hours.
Chew toys: These toys can clean teeth and massage gum and are great for teething puppies.
Tug toys: These are used to play tug-of-war with your dog. It may not be a good idea to use this if your dog is aggressive, dominate, or possessive about his toys. Be sure the dog releases the toy on command.
Frisbees: These are great for exercising dogs, teaching dogs tricks, or being in frisbees competitions. Start training when your pet is a puppy.
Balls: These toys are the traditional toy for dogs. It is important to make sure the ball is large enough so that your dog does not choke on them. Many dogs choke on balls every year.
Stuffed toys: These toys usually do not last long, as the dog can quickly tear them up. Also if the dog chews off some part of it, the dog could choke on it. |
